Volpi explains that the bombshell is the use of hormonal anabolic steroids, that is, hormones in very high doses, above physiological doses. “It’s the man or woman who will replace the hormones for three months a week. They will mix things up, and use veterinary hormones.”
The situation is different when a person uses hormonal anabolic steroids in the correct dosage as an alternative. “We’re talking about the same substance, but it’s the dose that will make the difference between being a hormone replacement or using a bomb.”
How can parents determine if their children are taking steroids?
There is no way to know, but there are some signs that can make them suspicious. If your daughter joined the gym, gained 6 kg, 8 kg, 10 kg in two months, she is more irritated, and if her figure suddenly changes, and acne appears on her face, it is likely that he is using steroids at high levels.
The doctor says that teenagers do not need to use hormones to increase muscle mass and this goal can be achieved with other procedures.
He cites some, such as eating the right diet, eating a little more (high-quality) calories than you expend in order to build muscle mass, and doing well-planned supplementation indicated by your dietitian, nutritionist or personal trainer with nutrition coaching.
According to the doctor, it is also important to rest, sleep well, and understand that all this takes time.
Can anabolic steroid use cause sexual dysfunction?
Yes, because when you use an anabolic steroid, you suppress your testosterone production. The doctor explains, “If you take the anabolic steroid at a later time, your body will not be able to produce testosterone. And if you use the anabolic steroid constantly, you develop testicular atrophy and become sterile.”

Influencer Juju Salimeni, who also participated in the program, says that she used steroids without medical advice at the age of 16 to gain muscle and increase size, because she was too skinny, did not like her body and wanted a change.
“I ended up using things I didn’t even know what was actually inside the cup, they told me, ‘This is good for you to gain weight, gain muscle,'” he recalls.
Juju says that at 16, he didn’t have the responsibility and conscience he has today, at 35: “It was so wrong at first. And after about two, three or so years later, I had some side effects on my liver.” Also from symptoms such as dizziness, nausea and lack of energy, she did not have the strength to train, as if her body was tired.

Juju also says that, contrary to what it might seem, she doesn’t go to the gym happy: “I’m lazy every day, I’m really tired, I’ve been doing this for 20 years, but I do because my goal is to keep the body the way I want to, is discipline.”
She trains every day and it has become a habit like showering and brushing her teeth.
“There is no life without the food I eat, and there is no day without training. I am tired, and I don’t feel like it, but I do what I have to do, because that is my goal.”
