Samsung launches two new foldable phones tomorrow (10): What’s next?

coming. Tomorrow Samsung will hold (10) an Unpacked event, where the brand will showcase its highlights from the second half of the year.

In years past, the highlight was the Galaxy Note, with its mustache, which has been discontinued. So in recent years the company has dedicated its second major event of the year to showcase its new foldable phones.

According to rumors, four versions are expected:

  • Galaxy Z Flip 4 (a foldable phone that opens and closes vertically);
  • Galaxy Z Fold 4 (a foldable phone that opens and closes horizontally, like a tablet);
  • Galaxy Watch 5 (a new version of the brand’s smartwatch);
  • Galaxy Buds Pro 2 (new version of wireless headphones).

Below, we’ve rounded up what we know, through various rumors, about each of the possible releases – it’s worth remembering that there’s still the surprise factor. In addition to the mentioned items, the South Korean manufacturer can surprise and announce new products or services that are still under lock and key.

Galaxy Z Flip 4

Samsung’s teaser on social media makes us think we’ll almost certainly get the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The image used by the brand shows the foldable phone ajar, mimicking a bigger than (“>”) sign. The idea is that the tenth of August [data do anúncio] It will be greater than “today”.

Evan Blass, one of the main product leakers, has obtained images that could be of the new Z Flip 4. It should maintain the external design of the cameras area in a different tone – in the leaked model, the device has a color tone, while the camera area is dark.

In the area where the cameras are located, as in previous versions, there should be a slightly larger screen, which serves to display notifications and helps preview selfies with the main sensors.

When you fully open it up, Samsung will get a camera that punches a hole in the screen – in previous versions, the company had bet on a camera that was under the screen.

There aren’t many details on the specs, but it’s believed that it should have the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, which is one of the most advanced chipsets on the market – last year’s model, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, had a mid-range Snapdragon chip.

In addition, the battery of the new model should be 3700 mAh – remember that it should be a compact phone, and therefore with less battery than usual on high-end models, which is about 4000 mAh (or more).

Although he appears very shyly in the teaser video of the event, many leakers are aware that Samsung will present the new Galaxy Z Fold 4. Ice worldA notorious mobile phone information supplier says the mobile phone will contain:

  • 7.6 inch or 19.3 cm screen (closed)
  • 6.2 inch or 15.7 cm external screen (external)
  • Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 . chip
  • 256 GB / 512 GB Storage and 12 GB RAM
  • 50 MP + 12 MP + 10 MP Camera
  • 10MP camera for selfies
  • 4 MP camera (under the screen)
  • Android 12
  • 4400 mAh battery

The size should be very similar to the previous generation (the screens are the same dimensions), including the design with three cameras – it is expected that it will be similar to the three sensors in the Galaxy S22 (last year there were 3 12MP cameras). The internal camera at the bottom of the screen should be 4 MP. It is an improvement over the previous model.

The difference in screen size, which should have an aspect ratio of 5:4, should be roughly square – in most conventional cell phones it’s 16:9, rectangular.

The evolution of Samsung smartwatches should come in two versions: Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro – last year there was Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.

One of the big changes is that there will be no rotating screen mechanism, which allowed you to navigate through wearable options, according to images posted by Evan Blass, one of the major leakers in the tech world.

The Watch 5 should be available in 40mm and 44mm chassis, while the Watch 5 Pro should be a bit larger at 45mm.

As for the features, rumor has it that the watches will charge quickly and will have a temperature sensor, to check if the person using them has a fever, for example.

Integration with Google should be greater. Therefore, the watches must have Wear OS 3, with Google Assistant and the ability to navigate the map directly on the smartwatch.

Galaxy Buds Pro 2: More noise canceling

In addition to the Galaxy line of smartphones, the South Korean company also usually releases two wireless headphones per year. The ball of time should be the Galaxy Buds Pro 2.

According to the German website WinFuture.de, the new models should have improved noise cancellation technology, able to “mute” external sounds even in very noisy places. The autonomy should be up to 8 hours, but most likely with noise cancellation turned off, as the Galaxy Buds 2, their predecessors, have an autonomy of up to 7.5 hours in this case.

Finally, the headphones should be waterproof, offer “satellite audio” connectivity and Bluetooth 5.3.
