The Buzz IDVolkswagen’s new electric truck will be introduced to Brazil in September, during Rock In Rio. The car was already announced in March and has now been confirmed at a music festival sponsored by Volkswagen. The event will take place between September 2 and 11, in Parque dos Atlitas, Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
The launch of ID Buzz in Rock In Rio is a strategy to bring electric vehicles closer to the Brazilian audience, especially those launched by Volkswagen. In addition to the electric truck, the German manufacturer also plans to launch the ID 4 electric SUV and the ID 3 slot.
The VW ID family consists of electric vehicles that can generate a maximum power of 299 horsepower and a range of 550 kilometres. All models are already sold in European countries. In Brazil, vehicles still do not have sales forecasts.
This line is part of Volkswagen’s decarbonization strategy, which aims to neutralize carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 with electric models.
The car has already been launched in Europe, with manufacturing in Hanover, Germany. Priced at 65,000 euros in the entry version, the Electric Combi has a 204-horsepower engine and a range of 421 kilometers. There is also the shipping version, available from €54,430.
The references notwithstanding, the project is not committed to being a faithful reinterpretation of the combi. But according to Joseph Capa, head of design at Volkswagen, both projects come together in a strong compromise between form and function. The truck has a length of 4.71 meters, a width of 1.98 meters, a height of 1.93 meters and a wheelbase of 2.98 meters. ID silhouette. The Buzz is very aerodynamic, with a coefficient of about 0.29.
The horizontal headlights are attached to a light strip, with a large Volkswagen logo in the center. The large glass cover, with its ultra-thin shafts, is a defining feature these days and should provide unparalleled visibility. The wheels are 18 inches. The rear has a spoiler antenna and shark fin, adding a sporty feel. The lanterns are very thin and threaded too.
inside The interior is clean, with most commands coming from the 10- or 12-inch center screen. The instrument panel is digital. The gear lever is next to the steering wheel. The finish blends simulated wood with brightly colored components on the dashboard and doors. In the sustainable “footprint” in which electric vehicles are introduced, Volkswagen ensures that the model uses a high percentage of recycled materials, as well as no leather used in the interior.
The passenger version seats five, but it is possible to increase this capacity to six by choosing the full front seat. In the cargo version, this logic was reversed, with a full three-passenger seat as standard, and two independent seats as an option.
Electric sliding rear doors. The trunk lid also provides an electric hatch. In the passenger version, a separate rear seat provides for adjustment of the seat and backrest. The trunk volume is 1,221 liters, but with the seat folded down, the capacity increases to 2,205 liters. According to Volkswagen, six- and seven-seat configurations, as well as a longer wheelbase, will come in the mid-range.
Already in the identifier. Buzz Cargo Only the right door has a hatch, which is also sliding. The payload version, which has a fixed partition separating the passenger compartment from the rear compartment, can carry two standard-sized platforms. The rear volume is 3900 liters, with a load capacity of 650 kg.
electricity The model features an electric motor with 204 hp and a torque of 31.6 kgf/m with rear-wheel drive. The battery capacity is 77 kWh, but the brand did not report the autonomy of the car (some technical information has been preserved for the commercial launch of the model). On a DC fast charging station, the battery level rises from 5% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Personalization The Buzz is built on the Volkswagen Group’s modular electric MEB platform.
almost independently The model also brings advanced technology for use in autonomous mode, such as the “Car2X” local alert system, which uses signals from other vehicles and transportation infrastructure to detect obstacles in real time. Another benefit is “Travel Assist with Swarm Data”, which will allow partially self-driving, including changing lanes. Character realization Buzz will also bring a memory function for self-parking in a pre-saved environment.
electric truck id It is not officially included in the plans of Volkswagen do Brasil and does not have a premiere date. The truck has not yet arrived in the United States, where the market for electric vehicles is already strong.
