  • A Rublev (—/5) – D Evans (GBR/25) 6:4, 6:2, 6:3
  • H. Rune (DEN/9) – U. Humbert (FRA) 6: 4, 6: 2, 7: 6 (7: 5)
  • LIVE: N. Djokovic (SRB/4) – G. Dimitrov (BUL/27) 6:6
  • LIVE: A. Murray (GBR) – R. Bautista Agut (ESP/24) 1:6, 5:4
  • LIVE: L. Siegemund (GER) – C. Garcia (FRA/4) 6:1, 3:6

10:29 – Djokovic – Dimitrov 6:6 (6:6)

Meanwhile, Murray manages the rebreak in the second set. After a good service game, the Scot even takes the lead. Dimitrov creates the mini-break early in the tie-break, but Djokovic scores on his own serves. The Serb plays the tie break with all his experience and tries to make short rallies. Added to this are some unforced errors from Dimitrov. But the Bulgarian has shortened again. Djokovic gets the balls in the next set with an ace, but Dimitrov fends them off. So it’s 6:6.

10:25 a.m. – Siegemund – Garcia 6:1, 3:6

Garcia continues to be strong. The Frenchman serves very well and barely lets Siegemund score. The German can still prevent the loss of the set with her own serve. But shortly after, Garcia has the first set points. With a service winner, she also gets the second round.

10h21 – Djokovic – Dimitrov 6: 6

Djokovic looks dejected. The Serb has been struggling with hamstring issues for quite some time now and it looks like some movement is showing. For Dimitrov, this means he can perform his service safely. It also tightens when Djokovic serves. But Dimitrov does not use two set pieces. With an ace, the Serb escapes in the tie-break.

10:14 am – Siegemund – Garcia 6: 1, 2: 4

Garcia is really in the game now. The Frenchwoman wins her service game at zero. The German continues to serve hard, but Garcia is really playing top-level tennis. Two breakballs are the result for the Frenchman. She dismissed the faults in the first sentence. And of course, he doesn’t miss it. Break for Garcia!

10:11 am – Djokovic – Dimitrov 5: 5

Djokovic also has a few more problems now. With his own service, he quickly lags 0h30 behind. He fights back but Dimitrov creates a break chance. Djokovic fires a forehand in the baseline and thus concedes the rebreak. The punishment seemed almost certain to go to the Serbs. But Dimitrov strongly retorted.

10h07 – Siegemund – Garcia 6: 1, 2: 2

Siegemund has to fight a bit more for his serve. Garcia comes into play better and forces the German to start. The Frenchman increases the pressure and wins the first breakball. But she leaves them unused. With a powerful pass, Siegemund finally gets his game at 2:2.

10:04 am – Djokovic – Dimitrov 5: 4

Djokovic is no longer naked. The Serb holds his break without a hitch and extends his lead. When Dimitrov serves, Djokovic also takes a 30-0 lead. But the Bulgarian can work his way into the service. He finally takes out a forehand, Djokovic thus receives the ball of the first set. However, Dimitrov gets the important point to start with the backhand. He also fends off set balls number two and three. With an ace, he then reduced to 5:4.

09:54 – Siegemund – Garcia 6:1, 1:1

Garcia can then surely win his first service game in the second set. But Siegemund is still good in the game. The German also benefits from the many unforced errors of her opponent, who has already committed 19 faults. So Siegemund also confidently wins his serve at 1:1.

9:47 – Djokovic – Dimitrov 4:2

Meanwhile, Murray clearly lost the first set against Bautista Agut 1:6. The Scot was then unable to turn the sentence. Dimitrov has to fight again on his own serve. But the Bulgarian can save himself to win the match with a first game. Djokovic, on the other hand, clearly wins his next service to zero. In this one, the Serb also throws a real dream shot to the side of the net.

9:43 am – Siegemund – Garcia 6: 1

Siegemund serves to win the set. And the Germans serve really well. After another excellent first serve, Garcia hits the return into the net. These are the first game balls for Siegemund. And of course, she takes advantage of it. So the first sentence goes to the Germans.

9:39 am – Siegemund – Garcia 5: 1

Siegemund is also part of the next service of the French. Garcia can initially hit back after 0:30. In the end, the German still has a breakball. Garcia fends it off with a great second serve. Siegemund also cannot use second and third chances. With a big forehand winner, she gets the next break. A great performance from the Germans!

09:36 – Djokovic – Dimitrov 3: 1

Dimitrov shortened a little later with a fairly sovereign service game. Djokovic has a break. The Serb, who remains bandaged in the left thigh, faces an increasingly aggressive opponent. Therefore, the service is also narrower. But Djokovic picks up and extends his lead.

9:30 a.m. – Siegemund – Garcia 4:1

Siegemund gets the first break chance after a double fault. Garcia fends them off initially, but with great net play, the German gets the next breakball. A backhand error from the French also gave her the break. A good start for Siegemund, who also followed suit. She earns her own serve safely and extends her lead.

09h27 – Djokovic – Dimitrov 2-0

While Andy Murray makes a false start on Margaret Court and trails 0-3 early in the game, Novak Djokovic gets off to a good start. The Serb takes the first break from Grigor Dimitrov and takes the lead very early. His opponent then tries to vary a lot and slow down. Djokovic is actually a bit impressed by that. He makes a few easy mistakes, so this is a start. In the end, the Serb wins the game.

9:21 am – Siegemund – Garcia 2: 1

Garcia doesn’t start perfectly either. However, the Frenchwoman still provides her service. Siegemund can therefore submit again. And the Germans can do it too. With a solid zero service game, Siegemund wins the match. She seems to be slowly entering the game.

09h14 – Siegemund – Garcia 1-0

Laura Siegemund now starts against Caroline Garcia. The German opens with her own serve and it’s about to get tight. Siegemund needs to secure his service game via his debut. And she handles that too. False start avoided!
