5:17 p.m.: What does head coach Daniel Farke say ahead of Borussia’s first friendly this year? “It’s a serious and important test for us. Of course, it doesn’t have the value of a Champions League final, but the boys don’t have much time to get noticed either. The competition is fierce at the moment, there are plenty of players available again, so I expect a good performance.

4:31 p.m.: Is Farke already planning the Oldenburg match with striker and vice-champion Marcus Thuram (25), who resumed team training at Borussia on Friday January 6 after his World Cup vacation? “We will decide that shortly. We probably won’t take Marcus with us yet.”

Olschowsky, whose contract at Gladbach expires on June 30, 2023, is reportedly close to extending his contract with Borussia. However, this has not been a secret for weeks, the official announcement is still pending. It is possible that this will happen in the next few days. Sippel’s working paper also ends after this season. So far, there are no signs of expansion in this case.

3:14 p.m.: Head coach Daniel Farke (46) explains the summer break from the test as follows: “Yann Sommer actually prefers to train first, we want to let him train for the first two weeks. He tends not to not start.”

3:10 p.m.: Borussia won’t line up with all the top stars in the friendly against Oldenburg. Goalkeeper Yann Sommer (34), who is unlikely to be allowed a change at Bayern during the winter transfer window, will be spared on Saturday.
