Shocking scenes in Cincinnati. Damar Hamlin collapsed in the first quarter of the Bengals best game against the Buffalo Bills. Security went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated.
The 24-year-old was then taken to hospital and placed in an induced coma. The NFL announced that his condition was critical. The game was first interrupted for an hour, then stopped completely.
What happened:

The Buffalo Bills thanked them for their moral support with a mini video. “It’s more than football” title.

Dorrian Glenn, Damar Hamlin’s uncle, gave positive signals in an interview with the NFL Network that his nephew’s condition is improving.
“They’re trying to get him to breathe on his own again. He’s about 50% ventilated right now, yesterday it was 100%,” says Glenn.
“I am incredibly grateful, the medical staff are doing a fantastic job and after this scary scene yesterday we are happy that he is still with us,” he added.
However, he could not give the green light. “His condition is still unstable, he’s still struggling. We have to watch him day by day.” Worse still: as he later told “CNN”, according to the “Daily Mail”, he was resuscitated a second time after arriving at the hospital. Hamlin is currently in the intensive care unit of a Cincinnati hospital.
“A lot of people don’t see how loved they are in their lifetime, so for him to have a situation where he could have been taken and he has a chance to come back and see all that love he got.”

We are watching minute by minute and hour by hour.”

NFL insider Ian Rapoport retweeted a message from a close friend of the Bills player. As a result, his condition stabilized and doctors put Hamlin to sleep so they could put a ventilator access down his throat. Further tests are now pending.

Hamlin set up a tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins and quickly tried to get up. He suddenly collapsed. The Bills’ athletic trainers quickly came to the rescue before the seriousness of the situation was realized. Hamlin received CPR for several minutes, followed by oxygen.
Meanwhile, his visibly shocked teammates knelt around him. Hamlin’s family were escorted from the stands to the pitch. After 16 minutes of field treatment, Hamlin was taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital in an ambulance.
NFL stars in shock
Bills receiver Stefon Diggs then addressed the entire team. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor immediately ran to Bills coach Sean McDermott and consulted with the referees.
After angry reactions on social media and heavy criticism from ESPN pundit and former NFL professional Booger McFarland (“No one cares about football right now”), the NFL and its commissioner Roger Goodell then decided to drop the game. At this point, the Bengals were leading the Bills 7-3.
The Bills are returning to Buffalo, except for a few players who would like to stay with Hamlin. Some fans then gathered outside the hospital and prayed for Hamlin. According to ESPN, Bills receiver Diggs went to the hospital.
NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said the Bills are returning to Buffalo tonight, but some players are choosing to stay in Cincinnati to be near Damar Hamlin.
